Belles Hot Chicken at Wulugul Pop Up – Barangaroo

Melbourne institute, Belle’s Hot Chicken has popped up in Sydney before but this time it’s for a long 9 months. Owner and head chef, Morgan McGlone is scouting a permanent location in Sydney hopefully before the pop up ends in August 2016.

Belle’s Hot Chicken can be found in the newly opened Barangaroo reserve, specifically near the Wulugul Walk. Keep walking past King Street Wharf and you will see a long line stretching from the wooden sign that says Belles.

The menu at the pop up is almost identical to the one in Melbourne, with all the favourites on board. A single serve of wings will set you back $16 and has 4 hefty pieces and 1 side. Sides include Old Bay Fries, Coleslaw, Broccoli + Almond Salad, Mixed Pickles and Almost Arnold’s Beans. Sauces are extra at $2 a pop.

If you’re not a fan of wings there’s also tenders, drumsticks and mushrooms instead.

One of the best features of Belles is the fact that you can customise the heat of your chicken. Pick from one of the five levels of heat listed below:

  1. Southern
  2. Medium
  3. Hot
  4. Really Hot
  5. Really F**kin Hot

If you’ve got a group of 3 or more, you can think about ordering the Baller Bucket ($60), which holds 16 wings, 4 sides and sauces. Check out the amazing Instagram photos from Grab Your Fork of the bucket!
