Rengaya has been serving up yakiniku since 1993 and it’s still going strong after all these years.
Food
Like most Japanese BBQ restaurants, Rengaya lets diners choose between ordering à la carte or going HAM with the all you can eat option. Since it was a week night, I decided to forgo being a glut and stuck with the à la carte menu. But if you have a hankering for meat then you should definitely go with the all you can eat buffet option, do note that service is limited to 2 hours and the last order is taken at the 90 minute mark.
Although wagyu meat is the undisputed star of the menu, Rengaya also has a variety of sushi and sashimi. The Premium Sashimi Selection is a stunning display of fresh seafood that includes salmon, tuna, kingfish, oyster and scallop. It was designed for two people but my dad and I demolished it very easily.

Premium sashimi selection
I highly recommend the Premium Wagyu Assortment if you want to sample a variety of meat. The assortment has five different cuts of beef – rib, rib finger, loin, tongue and oyster blade. Each cut differs in texture and flavour but every piece is melt in your mouth soft.

Special Ox Tongue
Apart from beef, you will also find pork, chicken, duck and vegetables on the menu for your grilling pleasures.
Drinks
There’s nothing like a refreshing beer to wash down grilled meat and Rengaya carrys two Japanese beers on tap – Asahi Super Dry and Suntory’s The Premium Malt. There’s also an extensive range of sake, plum wine, Japanese vodka and cocktails to quench your thirst.
Service
We all know grilling meat can be a messy affair but luckily the staff at Rengaya are helpful and friendly. Used plates are cleared promptly and the grill is changed before it gets burnt.
Atmosphere

Rengaya
The restaurant is well-lit and clean, making it ideal for family and friends. It did take me a few minutes to find the restaurant as it’s tucked away next to an office building.
Verdict
The next time you’re craving meat head over to Rengaya for some buttery wagyu with a side of friendly service!
