The Day Spa by Chuan – The Langham Sydney

The Day Spa by Chuan is a tranquil sanctuary for guests to relax and unwind with tailored experiences for all.

The spa is located in the basement of The Langham Sydney – a luxury hotel nestled in The Rocks. After a quick check in at the spa reception, I was given a short questionnaire to fill out which is a standard practice for new customers at most spas. I was then handed my locker key and shown to the Men’s changing rooms. After a short wait in the lounge area, my massage therapist warmly introduced herself and led us upstairs to the treatment room.

Treatment

The treatment room was modern, clean and set at the perfect temperature. If you ever feel too cold or too hot, make sure you let your massage therapist know so they can adjust the room temperature accordingly.

I had purchased the 1 hour Pamper Package from Scoopon, which entitled met to a 30-minute Relaxation Massage and a 30 minute Babor Spa Facial. I recommend trying a mix of a facial and a massage for first timers, that way you can determine what your preferred treatment is for next time.

As someone with a desk job, I requested my massage therapist to focus on my back and shoulders, which she skillfully did – with just the right amount of pressure.

Next up was the facial, which would be done with Babor skin products. Babor is a German brand of professional skincare products that can be found in high end spas and beauty clinics. I really appreciated that my massage therapist carefully explained each step of the facial before she carried them out. My favourite parts of the facial was the enzyme cleaner, which removes dead skin, and the final hydration mask. After the facial, my skin felt radiant and glowing, it was as if every trace of fatigue and stress had been magically wicked away.

Facilities

Included with every treatment is full access to the gorgeous indoor pool (that’s practically made for Instagram), the Jacuzzi, steam rooms and the gym. Unfortunately, I had to book my treatment in the morning and didn’t get a chance to swim in the pool but I managed to take a peek and a photo.

Extras

After being blissed out of my mind, I was guided to the comfy lounge and served some sparkling wine, tea and a macaron. Lastly, my massage therapist handed me a little gift, some lavender bath salts.

Value

Thanks to the Scoopon deal, I was able to enjoy some serious pampering for only A$129. Normally a 1 hour Babor facial costs $210 and a 1 hour Relaxation Massage will set you back $180, so my 1 hour package would have been $195 – which means I ended up saving $66.

Verdict

Whether you’re a spa aficionado or a spa newbie, The Day Spa by Chuan is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. With a large variety of treatments and impeccable service, I’ll definitely be back for another pamper session!
