SkyTeam Lounge – Sydney

SkyTeam lounge in Sydney International Airport is a clean, calm retreat from the busy hustle and bustle.

All First and Business Class passengers traveling on, or connecting to/from, a same-day international flight operated by a SkyTeam member airline have access to a lounge. SkyTeam members include:

  • China Airlines
  • China Eastern
  • China Southern
  • Delta
  • Korean Air
  • Garuda Indonesian
  • Xiamen Air.

In addition, SkyTeam Elite Plus members can also gain access provided they are flying with one of the SkyTeam airlines. I was able to enter the lounge as I was flying to Wuhan with China Eastern in business class.

The SkyTeam Lounge is spacious and well lit, thanks to floor to ceiling windows lining one side of the lounge. There’s an abundance of comfortable seating and even a living green wall that adds a pop  of colour to the otherwise bland lounge.

As I was visiting in the morning, the buffet had been set up for breakfast. Typical continental breakfast items were on offer including bacon, eggs, cereal and pastries. To cater for the Chinese clientele, Chinese dishes such as fried noodles and dim sum were available. A well stocked bar, with coffee, tea and juices, is situated next to the buffet island.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided throughout the lounge and I had reasonable speeds connecting with my iPhone. Towards the back of the lounge, there’s a small work space with 3 iMac computers and a printer for guests to use. Power points are plenty and scattered around the lounge.

A wide selection of magazines and newspapers were placed on shelves around the lounge, several televisions can be found as well. Tucked away in the back of the lounge is an enclosed relaxation room with two massage chairs for guests to sit in. Although I didn’t use the showers, they looked clean and functional.

The SkyTeam lounge is great for travellers on SkyTeam who want a place to relax, recharge and grab a bite before their flight.
